4 large cucumber
1 Tablespoon salt
1 large onion, sliced and rings separated
Sour cream dressing
1 cup sour cream
3 Tablespoon vinegar
1 Tablespoon sugar
2 Tablespoon finely chipped fresh dill or 1 teaspoon dill weed
freshly ground pepper

Peel cucumbers only if waxed, skins are tough or you want to. Cut cucumbers in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds if you desire or slice. Sprinkle with salt. Weight down cucumbers with a plate. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Drain of liquid. Gently squeeze out remaining liquid. Slice onions into rings and add to cucumbers. Stir vinegar, sugar dill and pepper into sour cream to taste, stir into cucumber mixture.
