1 1/2 c butter (do not substitute)
3 cups sugar
1 T vanilla
1 1/4 cups eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup cocoa powder
1/2 T salt
! 1/2 cups chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar and mix completely. Add vanilla and beaten eggs. Set aside. Sift dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Mix well. Add nuts. Pour into a greased half bun tray. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cut into 2X2 inch squares. Frost with ready to use chocolate frosting or your favorite homemade.
