1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium jalapeño, seeded and chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, mashed
1 T. corn oil
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
6 c. chicken broth (or bullion cubes in 6 c. water)
1 can tomato soup
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. Worcestershire
Tabasco to taste
1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
5 c. tortilla chips, broken
2 large limes
2-3 large avocados, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onion, jalapeño, and garlic in oil until limp. Add tomatoes, chicken broth, and tomato soup. Stir thoroughly. Add cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, and Tabasco. Simmer 1-1 1/2 hours, uncovered, over low heat. To serve, place cheese in bottom of soup bowl; sprinkle tortilla chips on top; ladle soup over all; sprinkle with lime juice and top with avocados.
