1 cup dates
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1 1/4 cup nuts
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
2 eggs, separated

Add baking soda to dates, pour boiling water over them.

Combine salt, sugar, flour, date mix, vanilla, egg yolks and nuts.

Beat egg whites and fold in to above mixture.

Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
