1 cup sliced almonds
1 egg
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/8 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Spread almonds in a thin layer on baking sheet. Bake in 375 oven for 5 minutes until golden. Cool. Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir flour and almonds and salt until just combined. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 9 to 10 mins., or until bottoms are light golden brown. Transfer to a rack to cool.
