1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
2 ounces chocolate
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate together over hot water or in microwave oven. Cool. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Beat eggs until frothy, add sugar, then chocolate mixture and blend. Add flour, vanilla, and nuts and mix well. Bake in 8 x 8 baking pan (greased) in 350 oven for 30 to 35 mins. Cool and cut in squares. For a chewy brownie, add 2 tablespoons corn syrup into batter before baking.
