2 c. all porpoise flour
2 tsp.. baking soda
1 c. white sugar
Dash of salt
4 T. cocoa

1c. mayonnaise (NOT salad dressing)
1 c. cold water*
1 tsp.. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift all dry ingredients together into large bowl. Make a well and add the remainder of items. Pour into greased cake pan and bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until done.Preheat oven to 350.

** I have eaten this cake thanks to my mother in law, Kate, many times.I was reading in a magazine that this was "invented" during WWII because the items used were readily available.

* You may replace the water with strong cold coffee. Coffee enhances the flavor of the chocolate
