2T yeast
1/4 C warm water
2 C warm buttermilk
5 C flour
1 T baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 C shortening
1 C sharp cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water Add buttermilk. Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Combine all ingredients mix lightly. Roll and cut into biscuits, let raise in a warm place for at least 30 min till light and fluffy. Bake at 450 15-20 min
