3-4 potatoes, diced
1 1/2 cup cooked rice
1 lrage onion, chopped
1 large green pepper
15 oz. can tomatoes
16 oz. can tomatoe sauce
1 lb. ground sirloin, fried and drained of grease

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the ground sirloin with 1/2 the onion. Add salt & Pepper to taste. Then brown the other 1/2 onion with the chooped green pepper. Ad some garlic salt, a teaspoon oregano and a pinch of nutmeg. Add 2 bay leaves and a clove of garlic cut in half. Simmer for about 20 minutes before adding sauce to casserole. Put some of the ground beef on the bottom of a casserole dish. Then add some rice over that, and potatoes over that. Add a little of the sauce over all. If you can layer again. Put the rest of the sauce over all and bake in 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes. Grandma would serve french bread or rolls with this.
