1 cup milk
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. margarine
1 cup warm water (105 to 110)
2 pkgs. active dry yeast
4 1/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp. sugar. Stir until dissolved. Let set for a minute. If it bubbles yeast is okay. If not try 2 more pkgs. of yeast.
Scald milk an stir in sugar, salt and margarine. Cool until lukewarm. Pour yeast mixture into large warm bowl, add milk mixture, stir in flour ( batter will be fairly stiff), beat for 2 minutes. Cover and let rise in warm place, free from draft, until double in bulk (about 40 minutes). Stir batter down and beat vigorously for about 1/2 minute. Turn into greased
9 1/4 X 5 1/4 inch loaf pan. Bake at 375 for about 50 minutes.
