1 C sugar
2 egg yolks
5 T flour
1 t vanilla
1/8 t salt
9 in unbaked pie shell
1 C whipping cream
1 C half and half
nutmeg or cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Mix sugar, flour & salt completely. Add the whipping cream (unwhipped) and blend.
In separate bowl blend the half & half with the egg yolks. Stir into sugar mixture. Add vanilla and stir gently until creamy.(do not beat) Pour into pie shell and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Bake until set, about 1 hour.

This pie was named the official Hoosier pie for the state. Sugar cream pie was one of the pies served at Kings.
