1 c shortening
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp lemon rind
2-1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp soda
2 tbsp lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening. Gradually add sugar and lemon juice. Add egg. Add grated lemon rind. Sift flour, salt, and soda. Add to creamed mixture a little at a time.
