1 qt. buttermilk
7 - 8 c. flour
2 eggs (unbeaten)
2 yeast cakes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Put flour in bowl, make a hole and put in buttermilk, oil, sugar, salt, baking powder, soda, eggs and yeast. Stir well and let rise for 30 minutes. Stir down and keep covered so it will remain soft. Take a small amount of dough out and pat on a floured surface, then cut into squares and fry in hot oil. Dough will be sticky.
This will keep up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

This is a favorite for our family to make when we go camping. We make scones to serve with our Dutch Oven dinners.
