1/2 cup Shortening
2 Eggs
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Applesauce
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Cloves
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 cups Flour
Chocolate Chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, eggs, and sugar. In a separate bowl, mix applesauce and soda. Then combine the two bowls and mix together. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes.

These are a really moist cookie so don't be shocked if they look a little "not done" when you pull them out of the oven. I usually just do the toothpick trick to check the middle. This recipe doesn't make very many so feel free to double it!
