Chicken Ala King Recipe

1-4 oz. can mushrooms
1/2 c. chicken broth
green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. milk
onion, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 TB. butter
4 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. flour
2 c. diced cooked chicken
salt & pepper
1-2 c. peas and carrots, cooked

Saute mushrooms, green pepper and onion in butter til softened. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook as for white sauce, adding the chicken broth and milk and cooking til bubbly, on low heat stirring constantly. Add soup and cream cheese, stirring until creamy. Lastly add the chicken and any reserved mushroom liquid to thin if necessary.
