Crust:
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3-6 T. cold water
Filling:
3/4 c. plus 2 T. light brown sugar
2 T. all purpose flour
1 T. butter, softened
1 c. light corn syrup
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Directions:

Crust:
Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Add water, one tablespoon at a time until dough sticks together. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Roll dough on floured board to make a 9 inch pie crust. Place in pie pan.
Filling:
Combine sugar and flour. Add butter. Beat until creamy. Add syrup and eggs. Beat until frothy. Add salt and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
