3/4 c. Shortening (soft)
1 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Sugar
1 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 Egg
1/4 c.. Water
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Salt
3 c. Quick or Old Fashioned Uncooked Oats

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla together until creamy. Set aside. Sift together flour, salt, and soda; add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 12-15 minutes. For variety: Use nuts, raisins, chocolate chips.
