1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 c applesauce
1 tsp baking soda dissolved in the applesauce
2 c flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 c raisins
1 c nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and applesauce. Stir in flour, salt and spices and beat. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake.
