4 1/2 lbs. tart apples
1 envelope Sure Jell Fruit Pectin
5 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Core the apples (peel if desired) and chop. Add a little water and lemon juice. Simmer about 35 minutes. Mash or put in a blender. Cool. Measure sugar in large bowl and mix spices. Measure 5 1/4 cups apples (add a little water if you need to make 5 1/4 cups) and put in a large pot. Add fruit pectin. Mix well and bring to a boil. Add sugar and spices all at once. Bring to a hard boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
