2 cups all purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/8 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp sugar 1 egg beaten 1 3/4 cups buttermilk 3 tbsp melted butter or salad oil
Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients. Stir just until wet. Do not beat. Drop by 1/3 cupful on hot griddle (med heat). Cook until bubbles appear on surface of cake. Turn and cook until browned on the bottom.
