DATE MIXTURE
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp bicarbonate soda

3/4 cup SR Flour
3/4 cup plain Flour
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Soak Date Mixture until really cold.
Beat egg, add half the sifted flours to the date mixture then the egg and then the other half of the flour. Pour into greased and floured cake loaf tin. Bake in a moderate oven for about 45 to 55 mins
