"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Shirley's Baked Beans, by Grandma, is from The Clausing Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
4 cans pork & beans 1/2 c. bread crumbs 1 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. yellow mustard 1 onion, chopped 1 tsp. worshestershire sauce 1 c. ketchup 1/2 lb. bacon
Partially fry out bacon. Stir in all ingredients and bake for 3 hours at 250º-300º
Grandma said that there was ground beef in this recipe but it wasn't listed in the ingredients, so I think if you would like you could put it in. I have not tried to make this but ANYTHING that Aunt Shirley makes or made is always delicious. (LW)
