2 1/4cups flour
1 tsp. bak ing soda
1tsp. salt
1 cups shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Add eggs. Beat well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread into greased 15x10 jelly roll pan. Bake about 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

This recipe is for a 15x10 jelly roll pan. For a 17x12 pan, you need to make 1 1/2 times this recipe and bake for 20 minutes.
