1 box devil's food cake mix
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk, divided
2 1/2 cups sugar, divided
24 large marshmallows
7 - 14 oz. flaked coconut
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Whole, chopped or slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cake and bake in a 9" X 13" greased pan according to package directions. While the cake bakes, combine 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 cup sugar and marshmallows in a saucepan and heat until marshmallows melt. Add the coconut. When the cake is done and still hot, pour hot mixture over the cake to completely cover. Then, heat 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and the butter or margarine, and bring to a boil. Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted/ Stir in the almonds, or save them for garnish. Pour over the cake to cover. Some recipes suggest chilling for 2 hours before serving.
