1 pkg. Yeast, 1/2 cup very warm Water, 1 cup scalded Milk, 1 cup hot mashed Potatoes, 1/2 cup Shortening, 1/4 cup Sugar, 2 tsp. Salt, 2 beaten Eggs, 5 to 6 cups Flour

Directions:
In large bowl dissolve the yeast in water.Set aside. Add sugar and salt, potatoes, shortening scalded milk in large bowl. Let sit until lukewarm. Add eggs . Add 1 1/2 cups flour and beat well. Cover and let stand in warm place for 1 hour or until bubbly. Stir in remaing flour to make a stiff dough. Knead until smooth.Return to a greased bowl. Cover and chill about 1 1/2 hours in refrigerator. Roll out and add butter and brown sugar. Cut into 1 inch slices.Put into 2 buttered 8" round pans. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 425 15-20 minutes.
