1/2 lb chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1 (7 oz.) pkg seeded dates, chopped
3 cups granulated sugar
1 cup milk or cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cook dates, milk and sugar together until dates form a paste and until soft boil stage is reached. Remove from heat and add butter. Cool, then add vanilla and pecans. Beat until stiff enough to knead. Put on a damp cloth and knead (keep hands wet if necessary. Roll out into small rolls in wax paper. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, just slice through wax paper into slices.
