Ingredients:
4 firm ripe bananas
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 c. banana liquer
ground nutmeg (or cinnamon)
1/2 c. white or golden rum
1 pint vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
Peel bananas; cut each in half lengthwise and then again in half crosswise.
In a 10" skillet over moderately low heat melt the butter. Add brown sugar; stir until bubbly. At once place the bananas in a single layer in the sugar-butter mixture and cook for a few minutes. Turn the bananas and cook only until slightly softened, another few minutes. Sprinkle with a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon and pour the banana liquer over; remove from heat.
Immediately in a small saucepan over low heat, warm the rum, pour over the bananas and ignite. BE CAREFUL! When flame burns out, serve at once topping each with ice cream.
