1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4-1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Mincemeat filling:

1/2 c. hamburger
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. currants
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c apples, cut fine
3 T. water
3 T. vinegar
scant tsp. salt
scant tsp. cinnamon
scant 1/4 tsp. allspice
scant tsp. nutmeg
1 T. lemon juice

Pastry: Use fork to work together ingredients. Roll dough on lightly floured surface.
Filling: Simmer all ingredients together until apples are soft. Bake at 350 in a 2-crust pastry until crust is medium brown.
