Dispose of fat from the prime rib roasting pan. Add 1/4 cup red wine or water to the roasting pan and stir to lift up solidified meat sediment. Add salt to taste. Cook on top of stove until gravy boils, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 minute. Strain into a heated gravy boat.
