1/2 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sour milk (or fresh milk + 1/2 tsp. lemon juice)
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 squares chocolate
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 cup nuts
1 tsp. Vanilla

Icing (Make before mixing cookies)
1 tsp. melted butter
1 square melted chocolate
3 Tbsp. table cream
1 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Icing
Melt butter & chocolate in a non-stick pan over low heat. Add to cream. Gradually stir in powdered sugar, stirring until smooth & blended.

Cookies
Preheat oven to 400º

Sift flour & measure. Add powder and soda, sift again. Cream butter and sugar. Add unbeaten egg, melted chocolate and Vanilla. Add flour alternatively with sour milk and add nuts.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 minutes.

Ice cookies while warm.
