Story of Recipe: I go the recipe from my mother, Mae (McReynolds) Overhults who got it from her mother-in-law, Nina (Bullock) Overhuls (different spelling is correct--another story!) As long as my grandmother was able and she lived to be 95--d.1985, she would make this salad for our family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. She always brought it in a footed carnival glass bowl and served it with a large silver spoon. Mother shared it with her mother so we had it at her house also. Mother continued through the years to make it for family holiday dinners and I do now.

Psalm 118:24 RSV: This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
