1/2 lb. oleo
1 c. almond paste
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix oleo, sugar, egg and almond paste. Add the flour. Press into a 9" buttered pan. Brush with milk. Bake @ 300º for 40-50 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and cut into diagonals. Remove from pan and cool.

These are just as good with 1 tsp. almond extract, instead of paste. Martha Van Proyen is a dear friend of Grandma's and they worked together at the Holland Home.
