Cake:
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. boiling water
c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
tsp. nutmeg

Icing:
6 Tbsp. melted butter
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
2-3 Tbsp. cream
tsp. salt
1 c. shredded coconut or oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand at least 20 minutes. Cream together the butter, sugar and eggs. Stir dry ingredients into egg mixture. Beat about 2 minutes. Add oatmeal mixture. Turn into greased 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes, toothpick test clean. While cake is still warm, spread on icing.

Combine icing ingredients and spread on the cake. Place the cake 3 inches below broiler with the heat low. Watch so it bubbles but does not burn.
