2 c. corn meal
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 tbsp.. flour
1 egg
1 tsp.soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
4 tsp. sugar
6 tsp.onion, chopped fine

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients; add egg and buttermilk; add onions; add cheese. Drop by teaspoonfuls into deep fat at 375, used to cook fish. Cook until golden brown. Serve with fried fish.
