1 cup butter-softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, at room temperature
1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter until smooth, add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and add in four parts, alternating with buttermilk, beating well after each addition. Scoop into prepared pans; bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Vanilla Buttercream Icing: 1 cup butter, softened, 8 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla
