uncooked pastry shell cold from refrigerators
4 eggs
1 C. Sugar 1/2 tsp. salt
3 C scalded milk 1 tsp. vanilla
few drops nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs slightly, add sugar & salt, slowly add hot milk & vanilla. Put mixture into the pie shell, sprinkle with nutmeg, and bake in oven 425, 30 minutes

This was one of my mothers old recipes- marked "Uncle David's favorite". It also stated "delicious with powered eggs & milk". A true sign of the times in was written.
