11/2 c boiling water
1 c oatmeal
1 c raisins,chopped
1/2 c shortening or oil
1 c br. sug
1/2 c white sug
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 t cinnamon
1 t soda
1/2 t salt

Mix and set aside to cool, 1st 3 ingredients
Cream together , next 4
Sift together and add to sugar mix, next 4
Add oatmeal mix
Bake 350. 9X13 greased pan. 45 min. check earlier.

Frosting see below. It's a must !

1 cube butter, 1 c br. sug., 2 1/2 T cream or cond.milk
Boil 2 min. stir. Add off heat 1/2 c coconut, 1/2 c nuts
Make while cake is in oven.
Pour hot frosting over hot cake.
