1 c. margarine or butter, at room temperature 1 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups flour 10 - 1.2 oz. chocolate bars 1 c. chopped walnuts
Heat oven to 300º. In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar, vanilla and salt. Add flour and mix well. Press dough into ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 jelly roll pan. Bake 45-55 minutes until deep golden brown. Remove from oven and arrange chocolate bars on top of hot dough. As chocolate melts, spread it over the dough. Sprinkle with nuts and press lightly. Cut into 40 bars. Remove from pan when cool.
