1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp mace*
1/2 c hot water
1/2 c orange juice
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp orange flavor
3 Tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Blend sugar, cornstarch, salt, mace, and hot water. Cook over a medium heat to thicken, then add orange and lemon juices, egg yolk, orange flavor and the butter. Stir well. Continue cooking until it begins to boil. Reduce heat, and continue to boil for 1 - 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Use as a topping on gingerbread, sponge or angel food cake. Also good on pancakes.
