3 c. (1 bag) whole fresh cranberries
1-8 oz. package pitted, snipped dates
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water

Crust:
1 c. margarine or butter
1 1/3 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. quick oats

Glaze:
1 1/4 c. confectionery sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. orange juice

Filling:
In saucepan over medium heat , cook cranberries and dates with sugar and water, stirring constantly until berries have popped.

Crust:
Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beat until blended. Blend in vanilla, soda, salt and flour. Stir in oats. Pat about 2/3 of crumb mixture onto buttered jelly roll pan.

Spread filling over crust. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Cool completely and drizzle with glaze. Cut into squares and enjoy.
