1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk, divided
3 c. cake flour, divided
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening until fluffy. Add sugar gradually and cream until smooth. Add salt, 1/2 c. milk and 1-1/2 c. flour and blend well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add remaining flour and milk and vanilla and lemon extracts. Pour into a large, well-greased and floured tube pan and place in a cold oven. Turn oven on to 325 F for 1 hour. Increase temperature to 350 F for 10-15 minutes (may take longer depending on oven). Do not open oven until done.
