8 slices bread
8 oz cream cheese*
1/2 c jam**
5 eggs - beaten
1/4 c milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
butter

Directions:
Directions:
Spread 4 slices bread on one side with softened cream cheese. Spread remaining 4 slices on one side with jam. Press cream cheese slices together with jam slices, forming sandwiches. In a shallow bowl, beat together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Melt one tablespoon of butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium high heat. Dip French toast sandwich in the egg mixture to coat. Place in the skillet, and cook on both sides until golden brown. Repeat. Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or with syrup. *or,use peanut butter **can use preserves or pie filling
