1 c. Crisco
4 egg yolks (save whites)
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. soda
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 pkg. German chocolate, melted in 1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:
1 c. sugar
1 large can milk
1 stick margarine
3 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 can Angel Flake coconut
1 c. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Crisco and sugar; add egg yolks and beat. Put soda in buttermilk; stir. Add milk and flour to first mixture; mix well. Add salt, vanilla and melted chocolate; beat well. Fold in beaten egg whites; cook in three greased cake pans. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
FROSTING:
Cook sugar, milk, margarine and egg yolks together, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat; add 1/2 tsp. vanilla, coconut and pecans.
