Heat oil and sautee onions in hot oil. Add garlic tumric and chili powder to onions. Add chicken thighs and in above mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Add water, enough for gravy and cook for 20 minutes. Add tomatoes, cover and cook chicken until done.
