1 1/2 cup dark molasses
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup cold water
1/3 cup shortening
7 cups flour
1 tsp.. allspice
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Mix and cover. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough 1/4 " thick on a floured board. Cut with a floured 2 1/2 " gingerbread cutter. Place 2' apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake until no indentation when touched.
