2 lb. smoked turkey sausage, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
1 T. oil
1/2 c. minced onion or shallots
1 1/2 t. bottled minced garlic
2 c. dried navy, great Northern, or other dried white beans
2 c. water
1 T. dried thyme
1 t. celery seeds
1/4 t. pepper
2 (14. oz) cans chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, drain on paper towels. Add oil to skillet and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion and garlic, saute until tender. Sort and wash beans. Combine sausage, onions, beans, water and next 4 ingredients in a 3 qt slow cooker, Cover and cook on HIGH 8 hours or until beans are tender.
