2 C Cherries (pitted) strawberries, or apples
3/4 C water
1/2 C sugar (optional)
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Lemon juice or a bit of lemon zest
Bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Combine fruit, water, and sugar in a saucepan & bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until fruit is tender and water is almost gone. Remove from heat and mash slightly. Add cinnamon and lemon juice. Cook over low heat stirring frequently until thick. Stir in enough bread crumbs to form a thick paste.
