2 lbs. stew meat
2 T. oil
6 carrots, quartered
1 lb. onions and potatoes, cut
4 c. boiling water
1 T. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 medium onion, sliced
1 tsp. minced garlic or 1 clove, pressed
bay leaf
1T. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
dash of allspice

Brown meat, add water, lemon juice, Worcestershire, garlic, onions, potatoes, carrots and seasonings. Cover and simmer 2 hrs.

This was served at the Maundy Thursday dinner (Holy Week). Helen always made it and Lindsey loved it.
