1 cake yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 T sugar
1 cup boiling water
1 egg, beaten
3 1/2 cups or more, flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 425 degrees

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Place shortening, sugar and salt in a bowl and add boiling water. When lukewarm, add yeast and beaten egg, and mix thoroughly. Add flour to make a soft dough, and place in a warm spot and allow to raise until double in size. Work down and make into rolls. Let raise until double again and bake for 15 minutes.
