1/2 c. crunchy-style peanut butter
3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Beat peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla until creamy. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, blend well. Fold in chocolate chips. Bake 10-15 min. Cool 2 minutes; remove to nonstick cooling rack.
